The Water is Deep Here
The water is deep here. Like an abyss.
Suffocating you with its eerie spectacle.
You cannot swim here. You cannot stay afloat.
You can, however, poke it with the help of your forefinger.
The water is deep here. Like a sigh.
Snatching your breaths with its dissonance.
You cannot laugh here. You cannot scream here.
You can, however, allow your sore feet to soak in it.
The water is deep here. Like a phantom.
Forcing you to peer at it through binoculars.
You cannot touch it. You cannot comprehend it.
You can, however, prepare yourself for what is certain.
