Zohreh Zadbood | Photography & Profile

Zohreh Zadbood is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist writing in English and Persian, moving fluidly between photography, storytelling, and poetry. She allows each discipline to inform the others while expressing the same inner voice. Her photographs carry the sensibility of poems, celebrating quiet, overlooked moments and the delicacy that lives inside them. Her writing is shaped by a photographer’s eye for light, nuance, and the unspoken. Her work has appeared in The Kenyon Review, About Place Journal, The Los Angeles Press, and the New Generation Beats Anthology, among others, and has been exhibited internationally, including Postcards from the Edge at Berry Campbell Gallery in New York, Dreams and Nightmares at Boomer Gallery in London, and multiple online exhibitions with Lenscratch. Her screenplay was named a finalist for the Sundance Institute’s Collab Cultural Impact Residency, her poem “Nobaraneh” was named Poem of the Week by Beatlife Magazine, and she was a finalist in Envision Kindness’s Our World Is Kind international photo contest. She has read as a featured poet at venues across New York and New Jersey, including the New York Public Library, Unnameable Books, and Brownstone Poets. A graduate of NYU, she is completing her MFA in Creative Writing at The New School and holds certificates in Fashion Photography and Screenwriting from the New York Film Academy. She is currently working on her debut poetry collection and her first novel.
