Florence Pollux | Poems

Source of Solace

I’m sick of
My fight or flight
Or freeze responses

But the end still isn’t
Within our reach

And maybe the threats
Won’t stop coming

And maybe we’ll always
Be pushed up against
The wall

But at least
We have
Each other

And at least
I feel safe
When I’m
With you

Clouded Rhapsody

I’m wired to my lifeline

Overloaded by wavelengths
My sensitivity hits a high

A surge of euphoria strikes
So intense I lose myself

Swimming through consciousness

I can’t move
I can’t feel

It’s a blur of ecstasy
So good it turns back around

Like a frenzy of scraps

Voluntarily bursting
And reassembling themselves
On repeat

Slowly burning out
Until you’re clinging to the remains

And searching for a track
That’ll let you start anew

Listless Nights

Delirious and
Befuddled

I curl up
Beside you

You laugh

Reminded
Of a cat

Who only
Chooses
To show its
Affection

During the
Rarest of
Moments

And lovingly
Tease me

While I’m too
Tired to
Care
